Wild Minds

Portrait studies of the world’s wild canids.

There is something remarkably familiar in the eyes of wild canids. Wolves, foxes, jackals and dholes are often described as predators, yet their gaze reveals something more than instinct alone. Curiosity, caution, intelligence and individuality emerge through every subtle expression.

This collection is an ongoing series of ballpoint pen portraits dedicated to the character of wild canids. Each drawing follows the same composition, inviting the viewer to look beyond species and focus on personality. Rather than documenting animals, these portraits explore the presence behind the eyes—the alert mind, the calculated decision, the untamed spirit.

Every piece is hand-drawn with ballpoint pen, using thousands of individual lines to build texture, depth and expression.
